Chico Chamber Community BBQ and Cook-Off

Morrison & Company’s Toni Scott is proud to be a committed leader in Chico’s Young Professionals Organization.

Thursday evening the group had the opportunity to participate in the Chico Chamber of Commerce Community BBQ and Cook-Off at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds. The YPO team had a great time celebrating the 50^th Anniversary of R.W. Knudsen Family, one of Chico’s premier businesses, as well as networking with members of our beloved community.

YPO’s Spin it to Win it game was a hit with attendees and was almost as popular as Sierra Nevada’s booth!

A morning with Transfer Flow

This morning Geoff and Toni with the Morrison & Company team were treated to a tour of Transfer Flow, Inc. 

The fascinating Chico company is a full service fuel system manufacturer for van conversion, body builder and OEM manufacturers.

Their tanks, which are designed by top engineers and go through rigorous testing, increase fuel capacity and driving range.

Transfer Flow is consistently on the cutting edge of innovation and company co-founder Bill Gaines is a strong proponent of propane as an alternative energy source.

Technology already exists for a liquid propane autogas system and Gaines says liquid propane is cheaper and cleaner than other alternative fuel sources. The technology has positive benefits for any industry, especially agriculture, where producers are consistently facing rising fuel costs and regulations. 

As a proud supporter of propane energy, Transfer Flow is hosting California’s first Propane and Installation Training Program. The free 5-day course will provide an overview of alternative fuels and hands-on training with a liquid propane autogas system.

Agricultural Council of California Legislative Day



Brent and Governor Jerry Brown

Brent Morrison and Geoff Chinnock of the Morrison & Company team spent Tuesday in Sacramento at the Agricultural Council of California’s Legislative Day.

As allied members of the Ag Council, Morrison & Company was brought up to speed on the council’s work at the capitol. The Ag Council provides a unified voice for cooperatives and other farmer-owned businesses in the state legislative and regulatory arenas.

Members were also provided an opportunity to meet with state legislators and Brent and Geoff spent some quality time with Senator Doug LaMalfa and Assemblyman Dan Logue.

The event ended with a reception, where Brent and Geoff mingled with California Department of Food and Agriculture Secretary Karen Ross, Assemblyman Jim Nielsen and California State Governor Jerry Brown.
